Just make sure the book you choose meets the submission criteria.
THIS IS A NON-PAYING GIG -
You have bragging rights and clips for your portfolio.
However...
As editor, Sabra has the final say
and may edit your review for space and content.
That being said, there is no standard for length of review.
Write what you need to write and Sabra will take it from there.
We want reviewers who are not out to trash a book just because they can.
A negative review does not have to be mean spirited and spiteful.
Reviews submitted in that vein will not be published
and the reviewer will not be welcome to submit further reviews.
That is not to say that the review has to be positive. If a book is bad, we're not going to lie about it. However, a book receiving a negative review will be read by one or two more reviewers until a consensus is reached.
And the published review will be civil in tone.
Reading New Mexico will compile a list of books/synopses from authors and publishers andwill send a list once or twice a month listing what's available.
If you come across a book meeting the submission criteria, please go ahead and send the review for consideration. You might want to check with Sabra first to see if anyone else is working on the same title.

If you'd rather your name didn't appear with the review or in the list of reviewers, please come up with an alias we can use.
I will protect your privacy at all costs.
If you chose to be listed in the master list of reviewers on the home page,
I will link your name to your website.
